JOB DESCRIPTION - Accounting & Shipping Officer

Position Overview

The Accounting   Shipping officer will assist in the preparation of Management and Financial Accounts,

And will also assist in the Internal and External Audit process.

The Accounting / Shipping Officer   will also plan and coordinate the international shipment of goods.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Oversee and data entry payable and receivable  documents
  • Generate age payable and Receivable reports
  • Monitor and follow up all receivables
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all accounting records including developing a filing system . including the  generation of adjustment journals.
  • Develop and maintain a fixed asset register.
  • Assist in the Preparation of accurate and timely Management  reports- Balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement,  equity statement
  • Assist in the Calculation of , PAYE, NIS, H/S,VAT, GFL, CORP TAX etc.
  • Assist in the payment of Monthly and fortnightly Payroll and remittances, upload payroll journal
  • Assist in Internal and external  Audit
  • Ensure accurate inventory records including stock taking exercise
  • Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations, and ledger reconciliation
  • Assist in the Budget process
  • Responsible for any other duties assigned by a supervisor or Manager.



  • Assist in the shipment of goods to our customers , through coordination with our shippers Maersk.
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements


  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
