Manager, HR Business Support

Job Summary

The Manager, HR Business Support will report to the Vice President, Human Resources. The selected candidate you will provide leadership and management to the HR Business Partnering teams. He/she will provide Line Managers across specific divisions/business units with operational HR services and consulting on people-related issues and will lead the team in HR Business Support in embedding the HR Business Support function and the business partner model within the relevant business area which you are supporting.

Key Deliverables:

  • HR Service Delivery: Ensures the delivery of a range of HR support and internal consultancy services, inclusive of employee services, recruitment, training and development, employee relations and HR records management, to assigned areas consistent with HR Policies and Guidelines, Service Level Agreements and corporate objectives/li>
  • Operational Effectiveness: Ensures effective and efficient utilization of assigned resources, towards achieving operational goals and standards, as well as budgetary compliance.
  • Employee Engagement: Actively supports the implementation and rollout of Employee engagement initiatives of the organization. Facilitates active engagement and communication with and to staff members, fostering an environment of team and shared values.
  • Reporting: Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely operational and other reports, with a view to supporting effective data analysis and decision making.
  • People Management: Provides leadership, direction, coaching and guidance to team members towards ensuring the achievement of corporate objectives, continuous improvement and growth of team members.
  • Safety and Quality: Actively supports the advancement of the organization’s safety and quality culture, through personal leadership in this area and compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines

Person Specification:

You will have a Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of five (5) years of HR experience performing at a management level. You must have operational exposure to a range of HR and general business disciplines and be able to support the development of strategic initiatives as well as implementing processes and operational solutions. You must have effective team management and leadership skills, with excellent understanding of best practice HR management theories. You must have the ability to lead and deliver quality HR generalist support at a tactical and operational level. You must have good understanding of business requirements and be used to working in a fast paced working environment. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels within the organization. Actively interested in what’s going on with a questioning attitude and willingness to learn. You must be able to engage, inspire and influence people as well as being able to drive solutions whenever required. Strong analytical abilities, excellent facilitation skills and strong project management skills are an important requirement of the role.
