The Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE) Manager reports to the Plant Manager, and is accountable for developing, implementing and promoting a positive HSSE culture. Duties include, but not limited to: conducting comprehensive on-site safety assessments on a predetermined and established frequency basis to ensure regulatory and organizational compliance; developing HSSE programs and plans to minimize occupational accidents, injuries and hazards; developing & implementing an effective internal HSSE-related Audit Management System; ensuring that hazards related to asset operations are identified and risks are assessed and reduced through prevention and mitigation; ensuring effective contractor HSSE management systems are implemented and monitored, and developing technical and administrative HSSE initiatives, which bear critical importance to overall company objectives, operations, and profitability. The HSSE Manager serves as the Company’s expert to address regulatory agency compliance issues, third party safety & liability issues affecting consultants and subcontractor representatives, and fosters an HSSE culture of learning and continuous improvement, through knowledge dissemination, initiatives and compliance and assurance audits.
Qualifications/ Experience Required:
A Bachelor or Associate’s Degree in HSSE or relevant technical discipline with a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience inclusive of at least three (3) years of supervisory experience within a Petrochemical environment. Certification in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental management is preferred. Proven experience, with expert understanding of Health and Safety Management procedures and legislation specific to the energy industry, and a proven track record of designing, documenting, and implementing HSSE management systems and procedures are required.
