We are a growing advertising agency and are looking for a Media Buyer to join the team. Our Media Buyer will negotiate, purchase and monitor advertising space and airtime on behalf of our clients. The aim is to reach the highest number of people in the target audience at the lowest possible cost in categories such as newspapers, radio, television, magazines, internet and out-of-home.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify target audience for a particular media campaign and decide how best to communicate with that audience
  • Keep up to date with industry research figures, including distribution figures (newspapers and magazines) and audience figures (television and radio)
  • Monitor buying strategies
  • Liaise and build relationships with media houses
  • Compare and negotiate with media houses to obtain the best rates and most appropriate media spaces in the categories listed above
  • Communicate with media houses to adjust media schedules in response to audience figures
  • Book individual advertising spots/airtime in the categories listed above
  • Ensure that the adverts run accurately so that the desired media message is seen and heard by target audience
  • Prepare reports and budgets to include media plans/schedules to be submitted to clients and producing spending updates throughout the campaign
  • Undertake research using a range of specialist media resources
  • Analyse the effectiveness of the campaign and using this data to inform future campaigns.
  • Request all proofs of adverts, combining them in reports to send to clients.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Has a knack for numbers and very detailed oriented
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Prior experience as Media Buyer or a similar role
  • Familiarity with Media Houses and media trends
  • BA in Marketing, Advertising or related field
