Job description:

 

Position Available – Shipping Assistant

Shipping & Purchasing Department

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Receive and Process Incoming Shipments on a daily basis.
  • Prepare Shipping Documents using company/customs procedures for the Brokers for clearance of shipments.
  • Prepare relevant documents for the warehouse and receiving department so that the shipments can be well received in the warehouse.
  • Prepare Payments to Customs, Carriers/Agents, etc.
  • Follow-up with Brokers and Carriers/Agents by phone, fax, e-mail in order to keep track of shipment processing on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that all shipping documents are accurate and received in a timely fashion.
  • Handle customs queries on pending shipments.
  • Maintain proper filing system for storage of shipping documents.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with Brokers, Shipping Companies and High-Level Management
  • Must be a Team-Player
  • Must possess a High level of Accuracy and Organization Skills
  • Must be Computer Literate
  • Must be familiar with Customs Clearance Processes
  • At least one year experience in Shipping
  • At least three years experience in an Office environment
  • At least Five O-Levels
