Job description:


The Global Mobility Specialist will assist with the human resource aspects of interoffice mobility. They will serve as the point of contact for moves inbound to a specified region and have accountability for management of related mobility programs.


  • Partner with Global Mobility Director to develop and improve programs, policies and administration of the mobility process to meet Bain’s business needs
  • Provide Mobility-related expertise to local office staffing managers, HR Partners, HR team members and Controllers to facilitate their use of mobility policies and procedures
  • Act as a resource to local office mobility coordinators to develop a high level of customer service and a support model for transferees inbound to their office
  • Train local office staff on Global Mobility policies and procedures
  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day operations and relationships with external vendors
  • Capture and circulate best practices for the mobility life-cycle
  • Work with local offices to develop marketing materials to promote mobility
  • Administer transferee survey to measure program effectiveness
  • Work with Staffing Managers and HR Partners to maintain an up-to-date forecast of global mobility needs
  • Coordinate with global and local HR and Finance to determine individual transferee packages and document in the mobility agreement
  • Track and report mobility related costs
  • Work with Finance and local HR to ensure the proper cross-charge of expenses for transfers
  • Work with local HR to ensure cost effective mobility programs
  • Calculate financial aspects of moves including cost projections and mobility stipend
  • Maintain and improve the process for tracking transfers and producing metrics for key stakeholders
  • Maintain internal systems to ensure policies and procedures are kept current
  • Monitor additional aspects of the Global Mobility program to identify opportunities for improvement


  • We are looking for individuals with strong business sense and practical expertise. Successful candidates must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience with local HR, or
  • Finance (experience working in mobility preferred); or 3 to 5 years mobility related experience (professional services environment preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication including tact and diplomacy
  • Passion about working with and learning from individuals from various countries/cultures
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required
  • Proven analytical comfort and ability
  • Proven ability to work productively both independently and as an integral member of various teams
  • Ability to perform multiple complex tasks
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability and willingness to attend calls to accommodate different time zones
