Job Title: Operations Assistant

The Operations Assistant reports to the Company’s General Manager. The position holder’s main responsibilities are to (1) to solely manage all stock of inventory under his/ her span of control, (2) to manage the day to day scheduling of deliveries and customer interface as part of the logistics process, (3) to receive all stock coming onto the premises and do so in keeping with approved policies and procedures, (4) to dispatch all request for product ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are strictly adhered to at all times, (5) to prepare key management reports to track the department’s sales performance, (6) to conduct end of month physical inventory stock counts and account for variances and ( 7) to ensure that the inventory stock rooms are kept in a tidy manner.
Holds and is solely responsible for all inventory coming onto and exiting the Company’s compound.
Dispatches all request for product in keeping with Company and Customer requirements.
Liaises on a daily basis with internal as well as external stakeholders with reference to the request for product and the timely delivery of same.
Ensures that all product/s leaving the Company’s premises on route for delivery, are in keeping with customer/s requirements.
Ensures that all inventory coming onto the Company’s premises are properly and accurately checked off/received and that all supporting documents are accounted for.
Ensures that all administrative requirements with reference to the receipt and delivery of stock are supported by the required documents.
Performs in conjunction with internal stakeholders, end of month inventory stock counts and provides valid explanations for all variances originating from the stock check.
Adheres to the Company’s Health, Safety and Management system.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent academic qualifications in the area of Inventory Control and or Stock Management.
Minimum number of years of relevant experience:
Minimum of five (5) years experience as an Inventory Management
Specific Skills/Experience and/ or Knowledge
The ability to plan and coordinate the activities of a team.
Well-developed interpersonal skills.
Well developed logistics skills and good knowledge of the geography of Trinidad.
Working knowledge of computer applications.
Working knowledge of the Occupational, Safety and Health Act of Trinidad and Tobago.
