JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION:               Store Keeper

REPORTS TO:         Accountant

SCOPE

To manage and assist with the inventory and control of stock at the Port.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Issue stock to authorized personnel.
  • Receive stock from suppliers.
  • Perform continuous stocktaking and asset counts.
  • Distribute and file stores documents.
  • Data entry for stores database for record keeping purposes.
  • Manage the fuel deliveries and quantities to the domestic tank.
  • Deliver and document fuel to all in-house equipment.
  • Follow up with purchasing department on outstanding orders.
  • Ensure that Stores Operations procedures are followed.

HSE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Knowing, understanding and complying with legal requirements for HSE.
  2. Understanding and following the Company’s HSE policy, procedures and work practices.
  3. Reporting to the supervisor any unsafe condition, procedure, defective equipment and or any situation, which can endanger oneself or others.
  4. Being familiar with the emergency plan.
  5. Always using the required personal protection equipment for the relevant task as outlined by the Company.
  6. Conducting oneself in a manner to protect oneself and others.
  7. Participating in training and using the knowledge and skills for HSE.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical parts and accessories.
  • Well organized.
  • Ability to work well with others.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) O’levels including Mathematics and English.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical parts and accessories.
  • Warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of Peachtree will be an asset.

 

GENERAL

  1. Hours of Work

The normal hours of work are from 7.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays with one (1) hour's break for lunch normally between 12.00 noon and 1.00 p.m.  Because of the nature of employment, the employee will be required to work outside of these normal working hours as and when the occasion arises.

  1. Allocation of Time

It is the employee's personal responsibility, within the framework of the tasks he/she has been set, to ensure that his/her time is distributed between tasks in the most advantageous way to the overall benefit of the Company.

  1. Customer Relations

The employee is to communicate effectively with customers at all levels, so as to ensure that the Company's image is always protected and maintained at the highest possible level.
