EZCON Readymix Concrete Operations Manager

Position Overview

Responsible for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the Readymix Concrete operations providing direction and leadership to the sales & operations team maintaining service quality, productivity, compliance and safety.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Central Booking Administration and Site Operations ensuring efficient co-ordination of drivers, equipment and materials for timely batching and delivery of supply of concrete to the customers
  2. Customer Relations Management
  3. Manage together with the Maintenance Department routine and unscheduled repairs to equipment  and trucks
  4. Manage the concrete mixing/batching process ensuring that the correct admixtures are used in correct dosages and provided verification that the concrete batched meets the specifications established by the company and the customer adjusting weights and quantities as necessary to maintain specifications
  5. Provide assistance to the sales team with calculations, including hours involved and tons of materials needed, along with truck, plant and human resources required for Job estimates
  6. Monitor daily production reports; maintain accurate inventory control; analyze productivity and material data comparing and analysing with sales
  7. Assesses and analyse business and operational risks and make recommendations to enhance business operations
  8. Reviews, verifies and approve employee time sheets for submission to Payroll
  9. Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals through formulating and implementing operational policies and procedures to maximize output and ensuring adherence to rules, regulations and procedures
  1. Prepare and manage annual Operations plan and budget through the development of new operational methods to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency
  1. Conduct periodic market research and analyse the comparison with the current business operations
  2. Coach employees on best practices for managing issues and handling daily challenges
  3. Ensures compliance with legal requirements and local environmental regulations as it relates to the purchase of materials

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • 7-10 years in an Industrial/Concrete/Construction Environment would be an asset
  • Degree in Business Administration with an understanding of Sales & Business Development, Customer Relations, Maintenance, Accounting & Logistics would be preferred
  • Knowledge of HSE Practices and OSHA Act
  • Contract negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Sense of teamwork as well as independent initiative
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Strong oral & written communication skills required.
