Business Development, Team Lead


Global Financial Brokers Limited is seeking a Business Development Team Leader to join our dynamic and growing team.

Job Objective:

  • To support the Company in the provision of reliable, dependable, accurate, responsive and consistent service to clients, in the New Business/Business Development function


  • To promote, contribute to and maintain valued client relationships

Job Function:

  • To maintain and communicate a clear vision of an empowered organization that provides superior customer service


  • To assist and support the Company with specific emphasis on all aspects of the new business operation


  • To liaise and follow-up with clients to ensure timely completion and submission of quotations with respect to new business and renewals


  • Analyse Group Health, Life & Retirement Savings Plans available within Trinidad and Tobago and prepare proposals to advise corporate clients on beneficial plan options and structures. All recommendations are tailored to suit the client’s corporate philosophy, demographics and cost constraints


  • Keep abreast of legislative and accounting requirements and newly implemented and proposed legislation as it pertains to Group Health, Life and Pension Plans within Trinidad and Tobago


  • To assist with work flow activities, as necessary, for the achievement of turnaround, quality and service objectives


  • Peruse print media for Invitation to Tenders


  • To respond in a timely manner to invitations to tender and pre-qualification applications


  • Ensure proposals are written clearly and concisely for submission to clients or as a response to a tender


  • To maintain a reporting system that provides relevant and timely information to all clients


  • To create and exhibit an open and honest environment while preserving an appropriate level of confidentiality


  • To assist in designing systems, policies and procedures that are flexible and supportive of the vision and values of exceptional customer service


  • Handling inquiries promptly, courteously and completely, taking full responsibility for same


  • To ensure legal compliance guidelines on Anti-Money Laundering are followed and fulfilled. Progress and updates are recorded

  • Monitor SEC, FIU and Central Bank’s client defined compliance policies and procedures for all operational activities to meet regulatory and company requirements


  • Manage the roll-out of any new services to existing or new clients


  • Conduct research and submit draft policies for review in respect of any new areas requiring policy implementation, whether through a legal mandate or as an Executive Management requirement


  • Conduct regular meetings with new business team on Global matters/issues and work together where necessary on new business projects


  • Regularly attend ELT meetings and provide support to ELT members


  • Ensure renewal requests are sent to the insurer three (3) months in advance of their renewal date and subsequently to the client two (2) months prior to their renewal date


  • Ensure a log of renewal notices and requests is maintained


  • Ensure a welcome package is provided for all new clients and roll-out sessions conducted


  • Meet with clients at their request or through Global’s initiative and provide an insight into Global’s services or present on areas addressing the clients’ needs


  • Represent Global at external meetings relating to new business and report on salient meeting points with the ELT and New business Team


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • Advanced computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
