Job description:

Job Scope: 

The Fabric Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on position which is responsible for leading deck service related operation and is responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordinating and supervision of all activities and crew members on the Client site to ensure job completion in alignment with timelines and budget in compliance with the Company’s & Client’s HSSE and technical standards as well as established policies and procedures.

Key Duties: 

  • Supervise all helideck operations, scaffolding, coating and minor construction activities on the Client’s asset
  • Ensure HSSE and QA/QC is the primary focus in the execution of all duties and responsibilities
  • Prepare Permits, Hazard Identification Documents (HIDs) checklist and control sheet in accordance with Work Site Control Standards (WSCS) requirements
  • Attend and participate in Client morning meetings and coordinate and participate in job tool box meetings
  • Review the details of work orders and work packages and procedures before executing the job; read specifications and technical drawings to determine locations, quantities and/ or sizes of materials required and instruct crew members accordingly
  • Identify and organise tools, materials and equipment that may be required to complete a job
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate work assignments for personnel.  Lead, guide and support all team members in the execution of the assigned projects in an organised, effective and efficient manner in alignment with current legislation and following sound industry norms and practices
  • Perform regular inspections of work progress and work completion to ensure compliance with plans, codes, quality and safety
  • Maintain detailed and accurate site daily reports and communicate project progress, concerns and recommended corrective actions promptly to the Deck Services Supervisor and other key stakeholders
  • Document relevant job information, labour, equipment and materials for submission to relevant departments on a timely basis
  • Ensure that tickets and timesheets are completed and updated as per the manpower allocated to jobs on a daily basis and submit for time entry by established deadlines
  • Manage an effective team – provide leadership and motivation to the team and ensure crew performance is in accordance with the work schedule, specifications and all other requirements
  • Ensure all records and required documentation from the project (both electronic and hard copies) are maintained and completed to auditable standards
  • Liaise with the operations and projects team to analyse and solve execution problems and identify improvement opportunities that add value to both the Company and the Client
  • Ensure client Control of Work (COW) procedures and Site Technical Practices (STPs) are adhered to while executing projects
  • Responsible for health and safety of crew and ensure proper housekeeping is completed
  • Carry out emergency response duties as required
  • Adhere to all HSSE policies/procedures and participate in Leading Indicators that will result in a Zero Accidents culture

Minimum Requirements:

  • Construction Management Diploma, Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument Engineering Technician Diploma or similar certification
  • Scaffolding Inspection Certification (Safety & Access UK Standard (CITB/CISRS) Certification)
  • The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) or equivalent blasting/painting certification
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience performing similar role/duties within the Oil and Gas industry
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ coatings experience in an offshore environment
  • Experience performing UHP and Abrasive Blasting
  • Certified in an approved Self Rescue training and Working at Heights/Rescue at Heights, Confined Space Working at Heights Awareness
  • Knowledge of relevant procedures and policies for deck operation.
  • Knowledge of coating and rigging practices
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritise in a fast-paced, high performance work environment; adjusting effectively to new work structures, processes, or requirements
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly
  • Must be a team player with good interpersonal, communication and supervision skills
  • Ability to delegate work assignments, set expectations and monitor delegated activities
  • Ability to synthesise complex or diverse information
  • Inspires and motivates crew members to work well and accepts feedback
  • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and exhibits sound and accurate judgment
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Maintains the highest level of respect, confidentiality and trustworthiness

An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements. Please also note that the successful candidate will be required to attend duties at the Client’s facilities as needed.
