Claims Officer – Non-Motor Claims

JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Claims Officer – Non-Motor Claims is to assist the Team Lead with the management of all Non-Motor claims to ensure that settlement is prompt, efficient, equitable and in accordance with all contract/legal conditions/ requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to the company’s policies, rules and regulations
  • Receive claim reports via phone, walk-in or electronically
  • Interview Claimants
  • Open and maintain claimant files (both electronic and hard copy files)
  • Assess and document information received to determine insurance coverage and appropriate action to be taken.
  • Update customer records and prepare various departmental letters.
  • Enter and discharge payments
  • Assist with the compilation of data for monthly claim department reports and requests for loss experience by Brokers
  • Obtain required KYC documents
  • Handle queries from Insureds, Attorneys, Service Providers, Agents & Brokers
  • Appoint loss adjuster and/or investigator using relevant documents
  • Responsible for follow up of reports from loss adjustors and/or investigators.
  • Review and file documents from adjustors and/or investigators
  • Keep an effective Diary and review system to ensure all claims are handled timely

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience of successful claims handling experience
  • Minimum of 5 ‘O’Level passes including Mathematics and English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the Workmen’s Compensation Ordinance, Motor Vehicles (Third Party) Risks Act would be an asset
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience
