SECURITY SERVICES SUPERVISOR

Trinidad & Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company Limited (NPMC)

We are inviting suitably qualified nationals of Trinidad and Tobago to apply for the following position.

Responsible for maintaining law, order and a secure environment for Company personnel, property and visitors at all NPMC’s locations, by developing, directing and enforcing appropriate systems, Policies and Procedures in accordance with the Supplemental Police Act and Company Regulations.

Responsibilities include

•  Establishes and maintains a secure environment within the Organisation by formulating and implementing security-related Policies, systems and strategies and advises on potential risks and precautionary measures.

•  Supervises and oversees security functions by developing objectives and work plans to ensure proper administration.

•  Maintains law and order by initiating/directing investigations of all reports of breaches of laws and regulations on the Company’s premises and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.

•  Evaluates, assesses and analyses performance of security personnel in keeping with the Company’s Annual Performance Review and ensuring that the necessary developmental action is instituted for all staff.

•  Manages the security operations within approved budgetary allocations.

•  Ensures management awareness of security matters by maintaining records of employee data, security incidents or other relevant information and reporting as needed.

•  Networks with local law enforcement agencies and other industry partners on relevant security matters.

•  Oversees the day-to-day security operations at the facilities including supervision of contract security personnel to ensure compliance with security Policies and Procedures.

•  Deploys security personnel to ensure a visible security presence and to assist with the identification of potential security issues.

•  Develops and maintains an effective security presence by ensuring that all security control equipment, tools and firearms are in good working order.

•  Develops strategies for the current and future improvement of the security operations looking at trends and developments in the industry.

•  Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.

•  Performs all other duties as required by the job function.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum acceptable academic/technical/professional qualifications:

•  Professional Certification in Security Administration/Management.

•  Minimum of five (5) years’ experience at a senior supervisory level in Security/Police work. (As may have been gained as at least an Inspector in the TTPS.)

•  Working knowledge of Port Security (ISPS) & Port / Marine Facility Security Officer (PFSO) and Airport Security guidelines and mandates.

Or any other equivalent combination of qualification and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•  Working knowledge of security best practices and legislation.

•  Assertiveness and the ability to command respect.

•  Confidentiality and sensitivity.

•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

•  Knowledge of Company’s Policies and Procedures.

•  The ability to work independently or as part of a team.

•  Sound oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
