Job Purpose
To provide legal services, representation and support and to reduce risk/exposure to clients consistent with ethical standards and statutory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Prepares and reviews contracts and other legal instruments.
Provides legal advice and opinions on matters arising across the company and within their client department.
Participates in contract preparation and negotiations for a variety of complex, multi-party agreements for ventures including M&A, strategic alliances and JVs.
Participates in dispute resolution on matters arising across the company and within their client department.
Represents the Company in litigation and works with senior legal counsel and external counsel with a view to resolution.
Provides legal representation on projects and committee meetings.
Provides legal awareness on statutory developments and case law to client groups as required.
Acts as instructing attorney to External Counsel om matters before various Trinidad and Tobago Tribunals; including, Equal Opportunity Tribunal, Industrial Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
Provides advice to company on land related matters including the preparation of conveyances and other real property transactions.
Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.

Job Specifications
Minimum Qualifications:
LLB and Legal Education Certificate.
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years’ legal experience as a practicing attorney, preferably dealing with commercial matters, with a minimum of three (3) years in the oil and gas industry.
