IT Lead – Data and Governance Full Time NEW

Job Purpose
To lead the development, implementation, and governance of the organisation’s enterprise data management framework, ensuring data is accurate, secure, accessible, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements. The role establishes data governance standards, oversees data quality and lifecycle management, and enables trusted data platforms that support analytics, reporting, digital transformation, and operational decision-making
Key Accountabilities
Develops and implements enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, security, and compliance across the organisation.
Leads the design and governance of enterprise data architecture, ensuring alignment with business systems, analytics platforms, and enterprise architecture principles.
Establishes and maintains data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models, working with business and IT stakeholders to ensure effective data management practices.
Oversees data quality management processes, including data profiling, cleansing, validation, and monitoring, ensuring accuracy and reliability of enterprise data assets.
Governs the lifecycle of enterprise data, including data classification, retention, archival, and disposal in compliance with regulatory, operational, and organisational requirements.
Leads the integration and standardisation of data across enterprise applications, operational systems, and analytics platforms to enable trusted reporting and business intelligence.
Collaborates with business units and IT teams to ensure data structures, definitions, and usage align with organisational objectives and enable effective decision-making.
Supports analytics, reporting, and digital transformation initiatives by ensuring availability of trusted, well-governed, and accessible data.
Defines and maintains enterprise data standards, data models, and metadata management practices to ensure consistency and usability across systems.
Ensures compliance with cybersecurity, data protection, privacy, and regulatory requirements related to data management and governance.
Conducts data governance reviews, risk assessments, and audits to identify gaps and implement corrective actions to strengthen governance controls
Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.

Job Specifications
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or Electrical & Computer Engineering
Project Management Certification will be an asset
Minimum Experience

A minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant IT application support experience with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
