Financial Planning and Analysis Lead Full Time NEW

Heritage Petroleum Company Limited (Heritage) is state-owned company in the business of exploration, development and production of crude oil. We are inviting talented, innovative, passionate and suitably qualified persons to apply for the following roles.

Job Purpose
To coordinate the Company’s budgets, forecasts, integrated financial models and management analysis; maintain effective controls over financial planning data; and provide timely insight on performance, cash flow, expenditure, risks and opportunities to support management decisions.
Key Accountabilities
•  Coordinates preparation and consolidation of the annual budget, long-range financial plan and monthly or quarterly rolling forecasts.

•  Maintains integrated income statement, balance-sheet and cash-flow models incorporating approved production, price, cost, capital, tax, financing and working-capital assumptions.

•  Reviews business-unit submissions for completeness, accuracy and consistency and challenges unsupported assumptions and unexplained movements.

•  Provides and reviews analyses of budget and forecast variances, reconciles operating and project costs to approved plans and discusses findings and recommendations with management.

•  Prepares base, upside and downside scenarios and stress tests covering commodity prices, production, costs, project timing, foreign exchange, taxation, liquidity and debt service.

•  Produces performance reports, variance bridges, run-rate analyses and forecasts that identify emerging risks, opportunities and required corrective action.

•  Supports internal controls over operating and project expenditure, financial models, accounting records and periodic reports to protect the accuracy and completeness of reported results.

•  Reviews operating and capital expenditure classifications, accruals, project cost estimates and relevant contract assumptions in coordination with Accounting, Tax, Projects and Supply Chain.

•  Supports annual financial and reserves audits by providing validated planning data, reconciliations and supporting documentation.

•  Ensures compliance with approved controls associated with SAP, asset-management and planning systems and maintains appropriate model documentation and version control.

Job Specifications
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Equivalent Discipline OR A member of a body registered with ICATT such as ACCA/ICAEW/CIMA.
Minimum Experience

A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Accounting/Finance with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
