JOB SUMMARY
Branford General Contracting Services Company Limited is seeking a dynamic, experienced and results-oriented Facilities Officer to join our Facilities Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality janitorial and facilities management services across multiple client locations. This role requires strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively supervise employees, conduct site inspections, coordinate staffing and ensure compliance with Company and client standards.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Supervising and coordinating janitorial and facilities personnel across assigned client locations.
* Conducting routine and spot inspections to ensure compliance with client specifications, Company standards and established service requirements.
* Monitoring service quality and implementing corrective actions where deficiencies are identified.
* Assisting with employee scheduling, deployment and coverage for absences and operational requirements.
* Monitoring employee attendance, punctuality, performance and productivity.
* Providing on-site orientation, coaching and training to supervisors and janitorial personnel.
* Training employees in cleaning methods, equipment usage, chemical handling, safety practices and Company procedures.
* Identifying employee training and development needs and assisting with performance evaluations.
* Investigating and resolving operational challenges and service-related issues in a timely manner.
* Ensuring that assigned locations maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and professional environment.
* Identifying and coordinating the materials, supplies and equipment required for assigned locations and projects.
* Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring the proper use and care of Company equipment.
* Conducting basic inspections of equipment and reporting maintenance or repair requirements.
* Assisting with minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting where appropriate.
* Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and safe work practices.
* Promoting the Company’s culture, values, service standards and management philosophy.
* Maintaining effective communication with employees, management and clients.
* Assisting with quarterly services, special cleaning projects and other operational assignments as required.
* Preparing and submitting inspection reports, employee performance observations and other operational documentation.
* Availability to work call outs or emergency works

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory or similar operational position.
* Must be able to lift at least 30lbs
* Walking or standing for long periods
* Be available to work on weekends and Public Holidays
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications:
* CSEC/CXC passes in Mathematics and English Language. Certificate or Diploma in Facilities Management or Health, Safety and the Environment would be an asset.
* Demonstrated experience supervising employees and coordinating daily operations.
* Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, equipment and janitorial best practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational, problem-solving and time-management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites and priorities.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and outside normal business hours when required.
* Valid Certificate of Character.
* Valid Driver’s Permit (Manual) and access to a reliable vehicle in good working condition.
* Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor machines, industrial vacuums, pressure/power washers and other specialized cleaning equipment.
* Experience managing large teams or multiple client locations.
* Experience conducting employee training and performance evaluations.
* Knowledge of occupational safety procedures and chemical handling.
* Knowledge of AI technology and it’s uses an asset
