Company Limited (EMBD) invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following positions:
PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT
The Procurement Assistant provides administrative and operational support to ensure all purchasing, tendering, and disposal activities conform to the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act.
Main Duties:
Tendering Support: Prepares Request for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Expressions of Interest (EOIs).
Bidding Operations: Issues tender documents, manages submissions, and maintains the pre-qualified supplier database.
Annual Planning: Assists in executing the state agency’s Annual Procurement and
Disposal Plan.
Committee Servicing: Coordinates, schedules, and acts as secretariat for evaluation and tender committees.
Statutory Compliance: Reviews low-risk or low-value purchasing files to guarantee compliance with OPR guidelines.
Disposal Operations: Maintain rigorous inventory records for the disposal of unserviceable, obsolete, or surplus state goods.
Auditing & Records: Archives complete histories of all procurement proceedings for mandatory external regulatory audits.
Qualifications: Minimum
Associate Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a CIPS Level 2 or 3 Certification.
Experience: Desired
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience handling purchasing, inventory management, o ublic sector administratior
Behavioural Competencies: Desired
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills both written and oral.
Good interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of public sector accounting procedures and financial obligations
Proficiency with the Procurement Depository managed by OPR
Strong written communication for drafting transparent state correspondence and reports
High standard of ethical conduct to avoid conflicts of interest
Technical Competencies: desired
Knowledge of public sector accounting procedures and financial regulations.
Proficiency with the Procurement Depository managed by the OPR.
