PORT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – PORT OF GALEOTA
This position reports to the Senior Maintenance Technician and is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, safety and reliability of equipment by providing maintenance support within National Energy’s Port and Terminal Facilities.
Key Functions:
Assesses equipment failures and provides recommendation/feedback to the Senior Maintenance Technician.
Reviews maintenance contractors’ documents to ensure compliance with National Energy maintenance plans and Asset Integrity Management Policy and Procedure.
Performs preventative maintenance on Ports and Terminals machinery and equipment based on the maintenance schedule.
Provides maintenance data by requested deadlines to support the completion of monthly / quarterly Maintenance reports.
Executes maintenance and inspection plans for Port of Galeota, per the agreed compliance percentage.
Conducts quarterly inspections and maintenance audits and identifies corrective actions to ensure safe and reliable operations at Port or Galeota.
Updates maintenance data to facilitate optimization of inspection and preventative maintenance schedules.
Collects maintenance data for the preparation of scopes and schedules for maintenance works that are to be undertaken at Port of Galeota.
Inspects port equipment routinely to ensure operational efficiency.
Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of spare parts, ensuring that data is up to date by requested deadlines.
Responds to equipment breakdown and emergencies, provides diagnosis and repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
Monitors equipment performance and recommends replacements for outdated or underperforming equipment.
Collaborates with Senior Maintenance and other personnel to plan maintenance activities to minimize disruptions to port operations.
The minimum requirements for the position are:
A Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Technical Diploma from an accredited tertiary institution.
A minimum of 6 – 8 years related experience in the petro-chemical or port and marine field.
Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
Comprehensive knowledge of Maintenance Management.
Ability to work independently in challenging circumstances and use initiative to propose and implement changes.
Extensive knowledge of Port and Marine operations.
Knowledge of RAGAGEP, Codes and Standards related to Maintenance and Asset Management.
Good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
Good communication skills.
Analytical, Diagnostic and persuasive skills
Knowledge and experience in trouble shooting, rotating equipment and mechanical systems.
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software
