JOB TITLE: Procurement and Supplies Manager
EMPLOYER: Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC)
The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and competent nationals for the above position.
Job Summary
Plans, monitors and implements the Commission’s purchasing and inventory functions in accordance with the Commission’s policies, practices and the procedures, rules and regulations of appropriate governmental and/or regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures that the facilities and warehouses are managed and organised to ensure the efficient receipt, storage and issue of materials.
Oversees warehousing, shipping and distribution schedules to prevent overstocking and stockouts.
Identifies potential supply chain disruptors, implements contingency plans and ensures local and international trade compliance.
Ensures operations of the department are in alignment with the applicable procurement laws.
Prepares draft budget proposals and administers approved budgets for the Supplies Department.
Selects, develops and monitors the utilisation of subordinate personnel to create and maintain effective levels of productivity.
Ensures the application and implementation of safety regulations and disciplinary measures consistent with good industrial relations practices and existing agreements.
Performs other related duties as required by the job function.
Education & Training
Graduate Degree in Management / Accounting or equivalent qualification.
Diploma in Purchasing / Inventory Control / Materials Management is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Well-developed knowledge of Tendering Procedures and Regulations and Materials Management, with special reference to Inventory Management and Control, Warehousing, Freight forwarding and Shipping.
Well-developed knowledge of the Commission’s Policies, Industrial Agreements, Safety Rules and Regulations.
Effective Managerial, Interpersonal, Negotiating and Communicative Skills.
Working knowledge of the Principles and Practices of Financial Accounting and Human Resources Management.
Proficiency in computer software programs.
At least eight (8) years’ experience in a similar or related job function, five (5) of which should have been at Middle Management.
Remuneration
Salary, terms and conditions of employment shall be in accordance with those determined by the Members of the Commission.
