JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the operation, monitoring, optimization, and maintenance of the Building Management System (BMS) and associated automation systems within the healthcare facility.
KEY FUNCTIONS
• Monitors and manages the Building Management System to ensure optimal performance of HVAC, electrical, and environmental control systems
• Analyzes system alarms, trends, and faults, ensuring timely response and resolution.
• Performs advanced diagnostics, fault finding, and repair of BMS hardware and software systems.
• Coordinates maintenance of controllers, sensors, actuators, and network infrastructure.
• Develops and implement preventive maintenance schedules for BMS and automation systems.
• Ensures all systems are maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications and hospital standards.
• Optimizes system performance through tuning, programming adjustments, and energy-saving strategies.
• Collaborates with contractors, consultants, and hospital stakeholders to ensure project success.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in BMS, automation, or building systems engineering.
• Certification in BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls) would be an asset.
• Registration with the Board of Engineering of Trinidad & Tobago (BOETT) would be an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of hospital mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, boilers, etc.).
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and mechanical codes (e.g., ANSI, ASHRAE, ASME, ASTM B31, ASME PCC-1, TTS/ICC/ANSI A117.1, NFPA).
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and project management.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
