NETWORK SPECIALIST
JOB TITLE: NETWORK SPECIALIST
EMPLOYER: North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA)
JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent is required to provide technical services in the management, operations and maintenance of the computer network hardware and software, intranet, internet, portal, communications, LANs, WANs and related connectivity infrastructure of the Authority.
KEY FUNCTIONS
* Manages network troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and operational/maintenance procedures.
* Handles the installation, testing, and commissioning of networking and connectivity infrastructure.
* Investigates security breaches, applies security controls, and maintains relevant records to protect network access and integrity.
* Monitors service level delivery metrics to prevent SLA breaches for networks and related infrastructure.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the area of ICT, including at least eighteen (18) months’ experience in the operation and maintenance of network, messaging and communications infrastructure.
* Training as evidenced by the possession of a recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering or a related area.
