Summary

At Hyatt, we believe our guests select Hyatt because of our caring and attentive associates who are focused on providing efficient service and meaningful experiences.  The Host / Hostess is responsible for welcoming and creating the first impression for guests.  These individuals have the ability to influence the overall restaurant experience by their interactions that include providing table accommodations and offering menu recommendations.  The Host / Hostess may be the final point of contact and have the ability to ensure guest satisfaction.  If you have worked as a restaurant host or restaurant hostess, your skills are invaluable to the position at Hyatt.  Your restaurant job experience will give you the tools to be successful as a restaurant Host / Hostess at Hyatt.

Duties include:

• Greet and escort customers to their tables
• Present menu and provide detailed information when asked
• Inform customers about the day’s specials and offer menu recommendations upon request
• Up-sell additional products when appropriate
• Assist in all Food and Beverage outlets (Waterfront, Lobby, IRD, Cinnamon, Pool Bar) as needed   by operational demands.
• Complete various additional tasks and assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Five CXC passes; including Mathematics and English
• At Least one year experience in restaurant or hotel food and beverage
• Knowledge of wines would be an asset
• The ability to stand for long hours;
• Excellent customer service skills;
• Availability to work shifts; including weekends and holidays
• The ability to multi-task;
• Good Computer skills;
• Fluency in a second language would be an asset
• Must be Covid-19 vaccinated
