E-IDCOT assists in diversifying Tobago’s economy through the promotion of environmentally sustainable production and the provision of project management services across the island. E-IDCOT is responsible for the operations of the Manta Lodge and Dive Centre.
🎯 Job Summary
The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall condition of guest rooms and assigned public areas to ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests.
This role involves cleaning guest rooms, replenishing linens and amenities, vacuuming, cleaning windows, and maintaining clean, organized, and fully stocked housekeeping carts. The Room Attendant completes daily assignment sheets, reports room status discrepancies and maintenance issues to the Rooms Supervisor, and helps maintain high standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency throughout the property.
📋 Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Room & Public Area Cleaning
Housekeeping Standards: Clean assigned guest rooms, hallways, and public areas according to designated step-by-step procedures.
Supply & Equipment Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked housekeeping cart with all necessary supplies for daily assignments and prepare it for the following day.
Team Collaboration: Assist department colleagues when requested by supervisors to complete room preparations promptly.
2. Guest Service & Operations
Customer Service: Respond courteously to all guest questions, complaints, or requests.
Reporting & Maintenance: Promptly report damages or maintenance issues via work orders/requests. Report room status changes to supervisors for immediate action with the Front Desk.
Security & Property: Maintain awareness of employee and guest property security at all times.
3. Compliance & Safety
Chemical Safety: Understand and comply with OSHA-mandated programs regarding the labeling, usage, and storage of cleaning chemicals.
Professional Standards: Report on time in proper uniform, follow company policies, and maintain cooperative working relationships across departments.
General Duties: Complete additional tasks required by the housekeeping department or job function.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Education: High School Diploma is required.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of related housekeeping/cleaning experience.
Note: Any other suitable combination of qualifications and experience will be considered.
🏋️ Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Physical Demands
Lifting & Moving: Lifting up to 50 lbs.; pushing/pulling housekeeping carts up to 200 lbs. Regularly required to lift boxes, mattresses, box springs, and furnishings.
Mobility & Stamina: Bending/kneeling as needed; frequent walking (up to 1/10 mile during a shift); continuous standing.
Stair Climbing: Climbing stairs up to 50% of an 8-hour shift.
Working Environment & Equipment
Work Environment: Split evenly between indoors (50%) and outdoors (50%) during an 8-hour shift.
Chemicals & Agents: Frequent exposure to standard commercial cleaning products.
Equipment Used: Vacuums, floor extractors, mops, mop buckets, window cleaning tools, and other housekeeping equipment.
