JOB SUMMARY:
The Supervisor, Security Training & Oversight will report to the Senior Manager, Security. The incumbent will be responsible for the management, coordination, delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of Caribbean Airlines’ Security Training and Oversight Programme systemwide. The role ensures compliance with TTCAA regulations, the Caribbean Airlines Aircraft Operator Security Programme (AOSP), Security Management System (SeMS), Quality Control Programme and industry best practices. The incumbent will oversee the development, implementation and review of security training programmes, compliance monitoring activities, audits, inspections, testing and corrective action processes to ensure personnel, service providers and security systems remain compliant, competent and operationally effective. This is a fixed-term (contract) position. The duration of the contract is two (2) years
KEY DELIVERABLES:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Security Training & Oversight Unit.
Ensures all security training and oversight activities comply with TTCAA requirements, approved training programmes and the CAL AOSP.
Develops, implements and maintains aviation security training programmes in accordance with TTCAA-approved requirements.
Ensures security personnel, service providers and relevant stakeholders receive required initial, recurrent and remedial security training before performing security-related duties.
Manages the preparation, delivery and evaluation of classroom, remote learning, moderated remote learning, e-learning, OJT and read-and-sign programmes.
Oversees the development and maintenance of training records, examination banks, certifications and training matrices.
Conducts and supervises compliance monitoring activities including audits, inspections, tests and evaluations across all stations.
Develops annual oversight and monitoring plans in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Security using risk-based methodologies.
Reviews findings from audits, inspections and operational assessments and ensures corrective actions are implemented and tracked to closure.
Liaises with internal and external stakeholders regarding training, certification, audits, oversight activities and regulatory compliance.
Provides direction, coaching and supervision to Training & Oversight personnel to ensure departmental objectives are achieved
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications & Experience
A minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Security Administration, Aviation Management, Risk Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Aviation Security, Security Training, Compliance Monitoring, Quality Assurance or Security Operations.
A minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience.
Thorough knowledge of ICAO Annex 17 requirements, TTCAA regulations and Aviation Security Quality Control principles.
TTCAA Instructor Certification or the ability to obtain certification.
Audit, Compliance Monitoring or Quality Assurance Certification from a recognized authority.
Experience in the development and delivery of training programmes.
Experience conducting audits, inspections and compliance monitoring activities.
Knowledge and Competency:
Working knowledge of Q-Pulse, Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledgeable on regulatory and law enforcement requirements.
Strong understanding of aviation security training, compliance monitoring and quality assurance requirements.
Strong analytical abilities and excellent facilitation skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
Strong influencing skills, sound leadership ability and an innovative mindset.
Ability to engage, inspire and influence people and drive solutions when required.
Strong customer service orientation and ability to support operational effectiveness across the network
Additional Information:
The successful candidate will be based in Trinidad.
You must be legally authorized to live and work in Trinidad & Tobago.
A valid Driver’s Permit and valid Passport are required.
You may be required to travel internationally and across Caribbean Airlines’ jurisdictions.
Moderate travel is required for this position.
