Job Purpose
To participate in the design and review of engineering solutions and initiatives to optimize core operational processes, systems and equipment and realize new engineering opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
• Provides support to operations, working closely with the Engineering and Operational Personnel to resolve and escalate more significant issues as required.
• Supports development of Management of Change (MOC) packages for technical accuracy and compliance with international and local standards.
• Provides input into engineering schedule and work plans.
• Supports multi-disciplinary teams to plan and manage project scope, cost and schedule, ensuring timely delivery of quality engineering solutions.
• Reviews engineering standards, specifications, best practices and other key engineering data.
• Provides input into a Process Safety Management (PSM) system for all process areas to Operations, Engineering, Maintenance teams, as well as other departments and ensures asset process safety risks are understood, controlled, and continuously reduced.
• Provides data into company Process Safety Information (PSI) database.
• Participates in asset technical risk assessments, identifies risks, exposure to Company, property and personnel in business units and develops controls for mitigation.
• Supports Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for instance Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOPs) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to identify and quantify risk associated with the operations of the facility and tracks/assists with progress and closure of recommendations.
• Provides input into company-wide process safety KPIs and initiates corrective actions as necessary.
• Supports technical input on Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Identifies follow-up actions and observations from self- verification checks that are related to process safety engineering.
• Supports process safety reviews, process safety-related studies/analyses, to support the development of related control measures for operations/projects.
• Develops process safety calculations and assessments including but not limited to dispersion, radiation, oil modelling and process safety time.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and guidelines to support the Process Safety Management Systems.
• Supports incident investigations as required.
• Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant engineering subject.
Minimum Experience
• A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience
