Team Lead – Business Effectiveness – Assurance Full Time NEW

Job Purpose
To lead independent, risk-based reviews of strategy execution, business performance, management commitments and critical business processes; identify performance and control gaps; and coordinate practical improvement actions that strengthen accountability, efficiency and delivery of corporate objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Develops and executes an annual risk-based Business Effectiveness and Assurance Plan aligned with the Company’s strategy, material risks and Executive Leadership priorities.
Lead assurance reviews of strategic and business plans to assess alignment with corporate objectives, evaluate key assumptions and performance reports, challenge priorities and resource allocation, and support effective strategy execution and business outcomes.
Lead independent reviews of enterprise and business unit performance to assess the effectiveness of plans, processes and improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to enhance organizational effectiveness and performance, and provide assurance on the achievement of intended business outcomes and value realization.
Lead assurance reviews of capital portfolio performance and investment initiatives to evaluate strategic alignment, value realization, key risks and performance outcomes, and support effective decision-making and capital portfolio optimization.
Conduct assurance reviews of planning and performance management processes to evaluate alignment, effectiveness and KPI quality, and recommend improvements that enhance accountability, performance monitoring and strategic execution.
Lead business intelligence, analysis and reporting activities to assess performance, evaluate the quality and relevance of management information, and provide insights that support effective decision-making, business improvement and achievement of strategic objectives.
Conduct assurance reviews of governance and risk management practices to evaluate their effectiveness, assess the adequacy of risk mitigation actions, and provide independent assurance on the achievement of strategic and business objectives.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives by benchmarking practices, evaluating business effectiveness frameworks and promoting the adoption of leading practices that enhance organizational performance and value delivery.
Lead stakeholder engagement and advisory activities to understand business priorities, validate findings, support improvement initiatives, and provide independent insights that enhance business performance, decision-making and strategic execution.
Directs the development and management of departmental budgets, ensuring effective allocation, utilization and control of resources.
Identifies root causes of recurring performance gaps, process inefficiencies, control weaknesses and delayed management actions and recommends practical corrective measures.
Provides objective insight to the Strategy and Business Effectiveness Leader, Executive Leadership Team and relevant committees on execution risks, systemic constraints and improvement opportunities.

Job Specifications
Minimum Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

•  Professional qualification or certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CIA or engineering qualification.

Minimum Experience

•  Minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in assurance, business improvement, performance management, risk, audit, finance, planning or project review.

•  Minimum three (3) years in a supervisory, team-lead or significant cross-functional review role.

•  Experience in oil and gas is strongly preferred.
