International Affairs Co-ordinator Full Time NEW

Job Description
The incumbent will be required to coordinate the development of relevant strategies for furthering existing bilateral and multilateral relationships. Work includes supervision and administration of the activities of the International Affairs Officers.

Key and Critical Responsibilities
Directly supervises the work of the International Affairs Officers by assigning and reviewing work and providing guidance.
Coordinates the research, analysis and preparation of briefs and reports in the respective areas of interest.
Coordinates the preparation of Cabinet and Ministerial Notes.
Coordinates the implementation of bilateral security agreements.
Coordinates the hosting of various events, inclusive of signing ceremonies, meetings and workshops.
Coordinates the drafting of press releases to advise on, inter alia, the hosting of security events, the signing of agreements and the acceptance of technical aid.
Represents the Ministry of Defence on local and regional committees and working groups.
Leads or assists in the development of plans, such as national action plans.
Keeps abreast of ongoing threats regionally and internationally.
Assists the Director and Deputy-Director, International Affairs, in internal training of International Affairs Officers.
Assist in other related duties.

Key Competencies
Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency in a foreign language (Spanish and French).
Proficiency in the use of computer applications and word processing software.
Experience in research and or governance issues will be an asset.
Ability to interact positively with clients/stakeholders.
