📋 Job Summary
The Steward is responsible for washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
🧼 Sanitation & Kitchen Maintenance
Wash, sanitize, and store all dishes, pots, pans, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using automated dishwashers and manual methods.
Clean and sanitize work surfaces, counters, and overall kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping floors.
Follow all safety procedures for using equipment, handling chemicals, and disposing of waste products.
🥗 Food Preparation & Event Support
Assist with food prep tasks as needed (e.g., chopping vegetables, grinding meat, extracting juice, and preparing salad ingredients).
Perform prep work for vegetables and condiments required for upcoming shifts.
Assist in setting tables and preparing food service for special events, parties, and banquets.
📦 Inventory & Food Safety
Monitor food storage conditions to ensure safe and stable environments.
Assist in maintaining inventory of department supplies and materials.
Support measures to control food costs, minimize waste, and track usage according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
🤝 Professional Standards
Maintain strict adherence to scheduled work times, hotel grooming, and dress code standards.
Keep supervisors informed of any operational issues, safety hazards, or unusual matters.
Foster a cooperative, positive team environment and represent a favorable image of the hotel to the public.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Education: High School Diploma (required).
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of related kitchen/steward experience.
Note: An equivalent combination of qualifications and experience may be considered.

Physical Demands
Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying food cases/equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
Mobility & Standing
Continuous standing and movement around the kitchen; frequent bending and kneeling.
Literacy & Vision
Literacy required to read MSDS sheets and procedures; vision to inspect cleanliness; hearing for equipment timers.
Environment
100% indoors (Kitchen environment).
Protective Gear
Safety shoes, apron, gloves, and hair restraint/hat required for the duration of the shift.
