Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must possess at minimum, a Master’s degree from a recognised university which should be in Engineering, Sciences or a closely related field.

Candidates should also possess:

At least five (5) years’ relevant experience in Industry
Knowledge of IP Commercialisation
IP audit skills for commercial and social returns
Candidates with the following would have an advantage:

Certification in Business Administration, with specialisation in Financial Management, Innovation, Entrepreneurship or a related field
At least three (3) years’ working at a recognised tertiary institution or university
Proficiency in the area of Contract Negotiation
Proficiency in Programme Management, including financial management
Certification in Contract Law will be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

Working with Academics and Researchers to identify and strategising IP opportunities with commercial, financial and social impact
Meeting with private and public sector for due diligence and marketing feedback and designing of funding proposals
Developing and staying abreast of high impact research areas nationally, regionally and globally for commercial and social potential
Initiating marketing strategies and negotiations with potential investors/licensees
Providing commercial input required for contractual agreements
Managing, monitoring and assessing performance of agreements
Performing other duties related to this role, inclusive of but not limited to special projects being assigned, such as technology transfer – awareness workshops to campus audiences or presentations on UWI STA commercialisation
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Director, St. Augustine Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (StACIE) or designate
