Role Description The Information Technology Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. This role supports daily IT operations across Pepe’s Group of Companies, including installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network devices. The IT Assistant responds to user support requests, troubleshoots technical issues, and provides printer and peripheral support to ensure minimal downtime. Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, assisting with data backups, documenting issues and resolutions, and escalating complex problems to senior IT staff when needed. The role also involves supporting technology upgrades, maintaining asset records, and collaborating with operational teams to improve efficiency through technology. The role includes CCTV operations, Access Control and motorized gates and doors.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Technical Support skills with practical experience assisting end users and resolving IT issues.
Candidates should possess foundational Information Technology knowledge, including basic hardware, software, and networking concepts.
Candidates should possess Printer Support capabilities, including installation, configuration, and routine maintenance of printers and related devices.
Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting and Analytical Skills to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in a multi-company or logistics/retail environment, familiarity with inventory or ERP systems, and knowledge of data backup and basic cybersecurity practices.
Strong communication skills, customer-focused mindset, ability to prioritize tasks, and willingness to learn new technologies are essential.
A relevant qualification or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
