ENROLLED NURSING ASSISTANT
JOB SUMMARY
To provide high quality assistance in the administration of nursing care support services to all patients in a timely, efficient and effective manner to ensure the delivery of a high standard of health care
KEY FUNCTIONS
•Assists in the delivery of nursing care to patients within scope of practice and nursing policies
• Documents in nurses notes all care given to patients and clients in accordance with scope of practice and policies
• Checks and monitors vital signs and other tests as required, reporting same to the Registered Nurse
• Assists in meeting the personal hygienic needs of the patients by bathing and grooming as necessary; reporting to the Registered Nurse
• Accompanies patients to clinic/theatre/treatment/diagnostic units and other health care facilities via ambulance/hospital transport
• Assists in the maintenance of the patient care environment by tidying patient’s lockers, beds, treatment room, sluice and dressing rooms on a shift basis
• Performs a variety of errands which includes requests/results to and from the Laboratory, collection of non-controlled drugs, and blood from Blood Bank.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of three (3) CXCO’level passes; one (1) of which must be English Language.
• Certificate in the Nursing Assistant Training Programme from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure with the Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
