Bartender
Job Summary
The Bartender is responsible for providing professional and efficient beverage service to guests
while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service. The
Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established
recipes and service standards, maintains an organized bar area, and assists the Bar Manager with
effective bar operations and stock control.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes,
portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to all guests.
Take beverage orders accurately and process orders through the POS system in
accordance with company procedures.
Verify guests' orders and ensure beverages are served promptly and correctly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout each shift.
Assist with receiving, checking, storing, and organizing bar stock and supplies.
Follow established procedures for stock usage, portion control, wastage, breakage, and
reporting of shortages or discrepancies.
Ensure proper handling and storage of alcoholic beverages and other bar products.
Maintain and clean bar equipment, glassware, utensils, and work areas to the required
standards.
Monitor stock levels during service and advise the Bar Manager of replenishment
requirements.
Handle cash and other payments accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including preparation, cleaning, securing
stock, and balancing assigned areas.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, food safety
standards, responsible alcohol service, and licensing regulations.
Verify identification and refuse alcohol service where required by law or company
policy.
Handle guest enquiries and concerns professionally and refer unresolved matters to the
Bar Manager.
Assist with promotions, special events, and private functions as required.
Work cooperatively with the Bar Manager, Front of House / Floor Manager, kitchen, and
other team members to ensure efficient service.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Bartending, Food and Beverage Management, or a
related field is preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Bartender in a restaurant, hotel, bar, or similar
establishment.
Knowledge of cocktails, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and standard bartending
techniques.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to
detail.
Good knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures.
Reliable, professional, and well-groomed with a positive attitude.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Bar Manager.
