PHYSIOTHERAPIST I

JOB SUMMARY
To plan, coordinate, develop, supervise and administer Physiotherapist programmes and activities so as to ensure the achievement of established departmental goals and objectives, as well as the full and comprehensive rehabilitation of patients suffering from disease or physical trauma.

KEY FUNCTIONS
• Administers a full range of Physical Therapy treatments to assigned patients.
• Administers and evaluates tests and measures as well as interpretation of results.
• Interprets referring Physicians diagnosis and recommends treatment.
• Prepares, participates and develops in-service programs and workshops.
• Consults with Supervisors regarding long-term planning for patient’s treatment and communicates patient progress as required, making modifications where necessary.
• Supervises, lectures and trains assistants in the administration of therapeutic treatments, in the maintenance and operation of therapeutic equipment and in the preparation and maintenance of records, reports and papers.
• Ensures that all equipment and apparatus is properly maintained and stored.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
• A University Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited school of Physiotherapy, whose qualifications are approved by the Physiotherapy Association of Trinidad and Tobago (P.A.T.T).
• At least two (2) years experience in a similar or related job function.
• Registration with the Physiotherapy Association of Trinidad and Tobago (P.A.T.T.).

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
